Daihatsu's New Tanto FunCross Kei Car Is Built For Adventure
by AutoExpert | 25 August, 2022
Daihatsu has recently introduced the FunCross, a new variant of their popular Tanto kei vehicle. The FunCross, in an effort to appear more robust than the regular Tanto, features redesigned bumpers that are mainly concealed by plastic cladding.
A similar choice was made for the grille and side moldings. Other distinguishing features of this model include aluminum-style skidplates, LED headlights, roof rails, and alloy wheels with a black finish.
Additional exterior customization possibilities are available thanks to two new packages: the Rugged and the Casual Active. A 658cc three-cylinder petrol engine is under the hood, with outputs of 51 horsepower when naturally aspirated and 63 hp when turbocharged.
The interior of the Tanto FunCross features vibrant color elements on the dash and door cards, camouflage seat coverings, and a waterproof finish for the cargo and rear seatbacks. Both the digital instrument cluster and the 9-inch infotainment touchscreen are carried over from the standard Tanto. Camping is made simpler by features like the rear USB charging station, the additional storage beneath the boot, the interior illumination, and the add-on roof rack.
Although the exact prices for the new Tanto FunCross models have not been announced, they are likely to cost more than the standard Tanto, which ranges from $9,072 to $13,045.
