Czinger 21C Reclaims Lap Record At Laguna Seca, Outpacing Koenigsegg

With its 21C hypercar, Czinger has just reclaimed the production car lap record at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, surpassing Koenigsegg with a blistering time of 1:24.75.
There has been fierce competition for this record. In 2021, with driver Joel Miller's help, Czinger established the record with a 1:25.44 lap. The record remained intact until August 18th, when the Jesko Attack from Koenigsegg narrowly beat it with a 1:24.86 lap. However, Czinger was not going to tolerate that. Just a few days later, on August 26, they returned and reclaimed the championship by shaving off a critical 0.11 seconds.
Not only is the 21C that broke the record extremely quick, but it also steals the show. Wrapped in an eye-catching "Rattesnake" pattern. It was this very same car—green carbon fiber with striking red accents—that grabbed attention during July's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Despite being a tiny firm, Czinger is showing that they can compete with the big guys with this automobile, which showcases both innovation and flair.
Czinger built the engine in-house, and it is what makes the 21C unique. The 2.88-liter twin-turbo V8 is an extraordinary engine, producing 950 horsepower and screaming up to 11,000 rpm. Two electric motors increase the overall output to 1,233 horsepower, or 1,333 horsepower with the power upgrade.
With a dry weight of just under 2,733 lbs (1,240 kg), the Czinger 21C is not only strong but also lightweight. Czinger isn't just competing; they intend to dominate the track with this combination of power and agility.
