Cupra Raises The Bar: Five-Year Warranty Now Standard Across The UK
by AutoExpert | 6 April, 2024
One reason you might choose a Cupra above other VW Group brands is that they provide the greatest guarantee. There is now a five-year warranty on all Cupras sold in the UK. A three-year, 60,000-mile (100,000 km) warranty was formerly standard on Cupra models, but customers could pay extra to have it extended to four years and 75,000 miles (120,000 km) or five years and 90,000 miles (145,000 km).
However, as of this week, all Cupras come with two years of unlimited mileage protection plus three more years of coverage as long as the mileage doesn't go beyond 90k miles.
This level of coverage is unmatched by any other VW Group brand. Launched in Britain at the request of Cupra's new UK president, Marcus Gossen, the new warranty effort includes the brand's ICE-powered and electric automobiles. It is not Europe-wide, however.
In comparison to other VW Group goods, the Cupra's guarantee may seem substantial; yet, some UK-sold vehicles from non-VW manufacturers do provide comparable or even better protection. With five years of coverage and unlimited mileage, Hyundai, Genesis, and Ora provide purchasers with peace of mind. BYD offers six years of coverage, while MG, Kia, and Suzuki all come with seven years of protection.
You may get warranties from Lexus, Peugeot, and Toyota that last up to ten years (or eight in the case of Peugeot), but unlike the other manufacturers, all three need annual servicing at an authorized dealer. Expected to make its North American debut before the end of the decade, Cupra may establish its presence in the American market through generous warranty coverage, among other strategies.
