Cupra Born VZ Is A Revolution In Electric Performance
by AutoExpert | 20 February, 2024
Cupra is introducing its first-ever electric vehicle, a sporty model based on the Born compact, dubbed the "VZ"—short for "veloz," which means "fast" in Spanish. Under the hood, the Cupra Born VZ packs a punch with an upgraded motor pumping out 322 horsepower and a whopping 402 pound-feet of torque.
That's a significant increase of 94 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque compared to the previous most potent variant of the Cupra Born.
With this power boost, the Cupra Born VZ can now sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.7 seconds, a full second quicker than before, and reach a top speed of 124 mph. Not stopping there, Cupra has also enhanced the Born VZ's handling with sharper steering and tweaks to the suspension.
Plus, it comes with exclusive 20-inch wheels and a larger battery pack, offering an estimated range of 335 miles on a single charge. Styling-wise, you can choose between the Dark Forest or Midnight Black color options, both featuring the sleek "VZ" logo on the tailgate.
Inside, the Cupra Born VZ boasts body-hugging seats unique to this model, along with an upgraded infotainment system and optional premium sound system. Paddle shifters come standard for adjusting energy recuperation levels, providing a more engaging driving experience.
Set to hit European markets in the third quarter of the year, the Cupra Born VZ will compete in a niche segment alongside counterparts like the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX and the MG4 XPower, offering electrifying performance and style.
