Crosstrek And REX Boost Gear Concepts Unveiled By Subaru

Images of the Crosstrek small crossover Boost Gear Concept and the REX urban SUV Boost Gear Concept were released by Subaru for the 2023 Tokyo Auto Show.
Both have been outfitted with off-road-oriented upgrades and extras to make them seem tougher. The Subaru Crosstrek Boost Gear Concept is essentially a beefed-up version of the current-generation Crosstrek thanks to its extensive list of optional extras.
Mud-terrain Yokohama Geolander tires are a notable component, enhancing the vehicle's traction in extreme off-road situations when paired with all-wheel drive. Several items from the newly released official accessory catalog were used to make aesthetic adjustments.
These included the black sticker on the hood, the addition above the grille, and the additional LEDs positioned next to the foglights. The Boost Gear Concept improves upon this by including an aluminum-style skidplate and fenders, additional protective plastic coating on the doors, a set of side stairs, rally-style mudflaps, and a Rhino roof rack with an incorporated LED bar and awning.
The company has been tight-lipped about the concept's specifications, so it's unclear whether or not it uses the standard e-Boxer hybrid version or a new engine. Compared to the Crosstrek, the Subaru Rex Boost Gear Concept doesn't have as many major changes.
It now has new black wheels with Yokohama Geolander tires, mudflaps, aluminum-style skid plates, a matte paint job, a matte black top, and a few light blue highlights. Information about the Boost Gear Concepts will be made available during the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon, when the remainder of Subaru's portfolio, including an Impreza outfitted with STI components, the limited-production Levorg STI Sport #, and three racecars, will be displayed.
