Chevrolet Is Coming Out With 2022 Colorado: A New Trail Boss Kit Is Included
by AutoExpert | 15 July, 2021
Chevrolet will release a new model in 2022, but it didn’t forget about the current model, as the Trail Boss package will be added to the new model.
The dealer installed kit (which is available on the LT and Z71 models) is aimed at making the vehicle a little more robust. The model loses the front air dam and gets a 1-inch lift package as part of this endeavor. The upgrades don't end there, as the kit also includes black 17-inch wheels and front and mid skid plates. Black badges and red tow hooks round off the highlights.
According to sources, the Trail Boss package costs $2,895 on the Z71 and $2,995 on the LT. Given that they effectively convert the truck into a Colorado ZR2 Lite, that's not terrible.
There aren't any substantial changes for 2022, because Chevrolet Colorado underwent a facelift last year and a rebuilt model is on the way. As a result, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 191 lb-ft (259 Nm) of torque is carried over. Customers can also opt for a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 308 hp (230 kW / 312 PS) and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque, or the 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine with 181 hp (135 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque.
