Cadillac CT5 Outpaces Escalade in Global Sales, EV Expansion Continues

Hey, so Cadillac's been super busy lately, and guess what? Their CT5 sedan just outran the famous Escalade as the best-selling model worldwide. Yep, it's true! While everyone's been eyeing those big SUVs, the CT5 quietly swooped in and grabbed the top spot. Pretty neat, right?

Cadillac's not stopping there, though. They're on a roll with their electric vehicle game. Last year, they dropped not one but three EVs, plus gave a fresh look to the XT4 and CT5.

And they're not done yet – get ready for the Escalade IQ and the super fancy Celestiq coming out later this year. Plus, we're all waiting to hear more about the Optiq and Vistiq, and their plans for electrifying the V-Series lineup.

Sales-wise, Cadillac's doing great in the U.S., almost back to pre-pandemic levels. They even beat out Acura and Volvo, selling over 147,000 units last year. That's a big win!

Now, about the CT5. It's not just any sedan; sales jumped a whopping 23.7%! Americans love their Escalades, sure, but the CT5 is catching up fast. And the performance models, the CT4-V and CT5-V? Their sales went through the roof, up by 20% and 31%.

Cadillac's also ramping up their Lyriq EV. They sold over 9,000 in the U.S. alone last year, and the numbers are still climbing. John Roth from Cadillac says they've got enough Lyriqs now to push sales even further.

Oh, and if you're into the whole EV scene, the Lyriq's doing great. It's leading the compact luxury EV market and even outselling Audi's Q4 e-tron (if you don't count the Sportback version). Cadillac's even throwing in a $7,500 incentive to sweeten the deal since the federal tax credit's not available for it right now. They're working on getting the Lyriq eligible for the new credit, though.

Despite all the chatter about slowing demand for EVs, Cadillac's not sweating it. They're confident their cars will stand out with their cool designs and impressive range. Take the Escalade IQ, for example – it's expected to go about 450 miles on a single charge. And it seems luxury buyers are getting more into EVs, especially in places like California, where Cadillac's adding more dealers.

So, yeah, Cadillac's been making some big moves, and it's paying off!
