Bulgari Vision Gran Turismo Is A Fusion Of Car And Timepiece Brilliance

Marking the 10th anniversary of its "Vision GT" program, the Gran Turismo franchise enlisted Bulgari to take the design helm, creating both a Vision car and a dedicated watch for the series. The Bulgari Aluminum x Gran Turismo Special Edition timepiece draws inspiration from the brand's original Aluminum sports watch from 1998, with the watch echoing the dials from 1990s Italian grand touring cars.
Available in yellow and anthracite, the watch's design reflects the automotive aesthetic. At the same time, the Bulgari Aluminum Vision Gran Turismo concept mirrors the watch's design cues.
The speedometer at the center of the instrument binnacle closely replicates the watch, incorporating three subdials. The exterior design of the car diverges from the watch, drawing inspiration from Italian concept cars of the '60s and '70s, notably evoking the wedge-shaped profiles of iconic vehicles like the Lancia Stratos Zero and the original Lamborghini Countach concept.
Presented in a silver hue reminiscent of the aluminum watch, the Bulgari Aluminum Vision GT exhibits a pure "barchetta" form. The digital car also features a unique front light bar, emerging headlights, and high wheel arches reminiscent of classic '60s racecars like the Maserati Birdcage.
The coherence of the design is a testament to Bulgari's expertise, particularly considering Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari's Executive Director of Product Creation and the mind behind this concept, has a background at Fiat's Centro Stile.
Teaming up with Fabio Filippini, former design director at Pinin Farina, the collaboration resulted in a visually striking concept. Enthusiasts will have to wait until 2024 when the Bulgari Aluminum Vision Gran Turismo becomes available in Gran Turismo 7.
