Bugatti's Revolutionary Leap: Unveiling the Future with a New Hybrid Marvel

A new Bugatti happens once in a blue moon. The company, with its headquarters in Mosheim, launched only two models in its Volkswagen Group era. Veyron was introduced in 2005, and Chiron in 2016. Now, in 2024, we are finally getting a new car.

With intriguing rumors regarding the vehicle’s engine type spreading around, we felt the urge to ask Bugatti directly about it.

As expected, the company wasn't eager to comment on the speculation. However, Head of Communications Nicole Auger did tell us that the masks will come off sometime in the middle of the year.

One thing is known for sure: the vehicle will house an internal combustion engine, but not the W16. The quad-turbo 8.0-liter monster is being retired because the Mistral roadster and the track-only Bolide are the final models to employ the powerhouse.

According to some, it will be a small engine, such as the Lamborghini Revuelto's V12 or the VW Group's V8. Others speculate it will be a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V16 couched by Cosworth. Whatever the case may be, the company's officials said that the next Bugatti will be a hybrid.

Previously, the Bugatti-Rimac CEO, Mate Rimac, said that we will be “amazed” by Chiron’s successor. He continued by saying that the vehicle will feature never-seen-before specs and a "heavily electrified" powertrain based around "a very appealing combustion engine." Achim Anscheidt, Former Bugatti Director of Design declared last year that the upcoming vehicle will be "even more amazing" than the Mistral.

Bugatti has been working on the design since 2011. It is worth noticing that the hybrid vehicle was the last model under Achim Anscheidt’s wing, who retired back in 2023 - after almost two decades at the helm of Bugatti design.

While Chiron is a deeply rethought Veyron, the new Bugatti rocks a brand new chassis. The rumors are that it might easily outrun its predecessors thanks to its exclusivity.

As shared by Mate Rimac on Instagram, the happening model was unveiled behind closed doors in November 2023.

Even though the global premiere is a few months apart, the deliveries won’t start until 2026.
