Bugatti Sur Mesure Showcases Golden Excellence: The Mistral and Chiron Super Sport Golden Era

Celebrating its one-year debut, the limited-edition hypercar Mistral receives an extraordinary makeover, courtesy of the Bugatti Sur Mesure treatment. This year's “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” event in Monterey will be graced with two special Bugatti guests: the Chiron Super Sport Golden Era and the color-matching Mistral, the latest creations from Molsheim that unveil the exquisite personalization options offered by the Bugatti Sur Mesure program.
The Mistral, painted in an elegant gold shade similar to the tailor-made “Doré” of the Chiron Super Sport Golden Era, exudes luxury even without the black front or intricate sketches found in its Chiron counterpart. The lower bodywork of the Mistral features exposed carbon fiber, and the mirrors add a touch of refinement with a gold finish.
Inside the cabin, Bugatti has opted for a two-tone leather design that mirrors the unique golden era aesthetics, complete with a gold-wrapped EB logo on the steering wheel.
First showcased at Monterey Car Week last year, all 99 pieces of the Mistral have already been sold, despite its hefty €5 million price tag. This expensive limited production opens the door to exclusive personalization, allowing customers to tap into the optional Bugatti Sur Mesure program. The gold-painted Mistral serves as a prime example of this service, teasing the possibilities before the first deliveries begin in early 2024. Whether the vehicle being showcased is a pre-production prototype or a customer vehicle remains unclear.
The hypercar duo scheduled for display at The Quail shares more than just a golden allure. In addition to combining elements from the Divo and La Voiture Noire, the Mistral shares underpinnings with the Chiron. This exotic speedster stands as the last Bugatti model powered by the mighty quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine, producing a staggering 1578 hp, the same as in the Chiron Super Sport.
