BMW has quite some plans settled down next month. On June 1 to be exact, the German automaker will debut the new electric iX and i4 Gran Coupe models in North America during a special event in Los Angeles. And again we get ahead of an official market launch in early 2022.
The new electric was described as a new immersive BMW brand experience located at The Grove in LA, the event being dubbed as the [SPACE] by BMW will be open daily to the public until November 30. The venue will display vehicles from high-ranked flagships such as BMW, BMW M, BMW i, MINI, and BMW Motorrad.
According to the vice president of marketing, BMW of North America, Uwe Dreher, they wanted to do something special to introduce these new vehicles, which is why they’ve created a brand platform in one of the most important electric vehicle markets in the world. The gallery-inspired venue is more than just vehicle debuts and displays, it will also host programs and events to create more engaging opportunities with their connections with customers.
The Us-market version of the new BMW iX will feature a dual-motor setup and is designed to deliver a combined 500 horsepower. The test for the new BMW makes the automaker estimate a 300-miles (483 km) driving range on a full charge and can reach an acceleration of 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 5 seconds. The price for such a gem should start at $80,000 and after June 1, some of the inpatient customers could even pre-order it.
The new i4 Gran Coupe version should be available for pre-order after the same event, but for this model you can opt for different battery packs and configurations, offering the same driving range but more 530 horsepower and could reach 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 4 seconds. BMW should make their first new EVs BMW with the latest iDrive 8 interface.
