Batman-Inspired Pininfarina B95 Gotham Debuts At Monterey Car Week
by AutoExpert | 10 August, 2024
At California’s Monterey Car Week, Automobili Pininfarina will introduce the first of four hypercars inspired by Batman. The electric Pininfarina B95 Gotham takes design cues from the legendary Batman and has a barchetta body built on Rimac subframes.
On April 30, the company first unveiled digital drawings of all four custom hypercars—two B95s and two Battistas—in the lineup. Each one is a joint effort by Relevance International, the creator of the fictional character, Warner Bros., and Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP), the owner of the rights to Batman's identity and other DC superhero properties.
California will be the site of the inaugural public appearance of the Pininfarina B95 Gotham, the real-life vehicle. In the same studio as the Dark Knight Trilogy (2005–2012), it was spotted next to the legendary Tumbler Batmobile to commemorate the event.
The high-performance Barchetta appears to be the ideal everyday car when parked in the subterranean garage beside the actual Batmobile. The model's exterior is a glossy Argento Vittorio black, while the alloy wheels are a mix of matte and gloss black. Tan leather upholstery with custom quilting and stitching adorns the interior.
The bodywork, chassis plate, and door plates all include Wayne Enterprises insignia. The infotainment display features unique graphics, and a virtual assistant voicing Alfred Pennyworth—Bruce Wayne's butler—is also available. Lastly, the driver's side door plate bears the words, "All men have limits...I ignore mine." Similar to the standard Pininfarina B95 Barchetta, the Gotham model harnesses a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack to power four electric motors, generating a combined 1,874 horsepower.
Rimac will also provide the foundation and specs for the other Batman-themed specials. During the 2024 Monterey Car Week, the Pininfarina B95 Gotham will have its world debut on August 16 at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering. The business proudly announces that the Pininfarina studio in Cambiano, Italy, will craft the one-of-a-kind client's vehicle, using the model in question as a showcase vehicle.
At a later date, Battista Gotham, B95 Dark Knight, and Battista Dark Knight will most likely make their physical appearances. With a price tag of €4,900,000 ($5,338,477) for the B95s and €3,400,000 ($3,704,249) for the Battistas, Pininfarina will only produce one of each.
