And apparently they are not the only ones, and that's because Google launched the Lunar XPrize, where several companies are invited to participate. From a technical standpoint, the vehicle from Audi presents an aluminum alloy construction, equipped with four electric motors powered by lithium-ion batteries that can reach a maximum speed of 3.6 km / h on the surface. Additionally, the machine is fitted with cameras, necessary not only to drive the vehicle but also for scientific purposes.
The winner of the contest organized by Google Lunar XPrize to receive a prize of 30 million dollars, and for this, the vehicle will have to travel at least 500 meters on the moon surface and send images and high-quality video from outer space.
Audi plans to launch its first vehicle in 2017 and, more than that, the Germans are showing an optimistic desire to cover a distance of at least 380,000 kilometers! Let's wish them luck!
