Audi e-tron Receives A Software Upgrade
by AutoExpert | 29 October, 2021
For anyone who bought an e-tron, Audi is providing a software update for free. The 2019 Audi e-tron and 2020 e-tron 55 quattro vehicles will receive the modification, which will increase their endurance by up to 20 km (12.4 miles) on the WLTP cycle, which is a 5 % increase.
Even though the Audi e-tron upgrade is being sent out first in Europe, Audi stated that it will be coming to cars in North America in the nearish term. A number of the e-drivetrain tron's systems will benefit from the updated software. The first enhancement will give drivers more accessibility to their batteries.
For safety concerns, most automakers leave a small portion of a battery's supply useless. That's why some EVs have a kWh figure, as well as a net kWh figure. This feature will be available on vehicles manufactured during September 2018 and November 2019.
The carmaker has also created new Audi e-tron technology to enhance the front electric motor's management. Whereas the e-tron 55 quattro has two engines, it only uses the back one in regular driving situations. The front-engine can now be turned off and almost completely detached from the front wheels, only fully engaging when greater power is required.
Cooling will also be improved as a result of the upgrade. Audi can decrease the volume flow rates in the coolant system by altering the control system, lowering energy usage. When the update becomes available, Audi USA stated it will contact customers directly.
