Acura Has Grandiose Plans for the NSX!
by AllAutoExperts | 3 November, 2015
The 2nd gen Acura NSX was firstly unveiled at Detroit Motor Show in 2015 and sales should come in steadily and in the high. Since the NSX has great number of rivals, Acura should be making plans on the ways to keep it competitive.
According to NSX project leader, Ted Klaus, they are working on 2 new NSX variants. One of them will be a convertible (NSX Targa) and one will be a performance NSX Type R.
The last Type R was all about reducing weight but the new variant will combine both weight reduction and power increase. At this point, the standard NSX is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that combined with 3 electric motors outputs 573 hp.
Honda/Acura says that its Super Handling AWD System provides greater handling, quicker acceleration, and extremely good fuel efficiency.
The ETA is unknown at this point in time but we expect the open-top version to be produced the first.
