2024 Subaru Solterra And Toyota bZ4X Will See Quicker Cold Weather Charging

Toyota and Subaru have released a series of upgrades for the bZ4X and Solterra EVs in Japan, with a special emphasis on improving their charging capabilities in cold climates. The battery capacity remains at 71.4 kWh, but it now heats up more effectively in cold temperatures, resulting in a 30% decrease in charging time at -10°C.
The bZ4X has also increased its real-world cruising range by using less power. This is possible because the ECO mode is automatically turned on and the air conditioning is set to its best level of use. Both variants are available with single or twin electric motors.
In terms of standard amenities, the entry-level G grade now has 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, and flashing danger lights to warn oncoming motorists. The high-spec Z grade adds heated rear seats, an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, and black-painted wheel arches. The Toyota bZ4X is priced in Japan between ¥5,500,000 ($36,690) and ¥6,500,000 ($43,360), depending on trim and engine.
Subaru's Solterra, on the other hand, has concentrated on improving its safety features, offering Advanced Drive Congestion Assistance, Lane Change Assist, and additional collision prevention capabilities. They have also modified the shape of the steering wheel for enhanced visibility. The redesigned Subaru Solterra is priced in Japan between ¥5,700,000 ($38,020) and ¥7,150,000 ($47,691), depending on the configuration.
