2023 (NACTOY) North American Car, Truck, and SUV of the Year Winners Unveiled
by AutoExpert | 1 March, 2024
The big winners of the North American Car, Truck, and SUV of the year were just announced. Let's see if the judges got it right!
The Cars: Toyota Prius (Finally) Gets Cool
Taking home the trophy is... the newly redesigned Toyota Prius! This hybrid's always been efficient, but now it actually looks good, and the plug-in version packs way more power. Beat out other strong choices like the stylish Honda Accord and the sleek Hyundai IONIQ 6.
SUV Showdown: Kia EV9's Affordable Win
This category was a Korean battle! Kia's EV9 snagged the win, which makes sense – it's a big, affordable electric SUV. That's hard to find! The Hyundai Kona and Genesis GV70 Electrified put up a good fight, but couldn't quite keep up.
Ford Dominates Trucks (Again)
For the FOURTH year in a row, a Ford takes the win! This time it's the Super Duty, proving they make the ultimate workhorse. Insane power, towing capacity, and loads of handy features. Good thing – it beat out two tough Chevy trucks, the Colorado and Silverado EV.
Our Two Cents
The judges got most of this right. The Prius makeover is long overdue, and the EV9 is gonna be a major hit with families. But honestly, we're surprised a Chevy didn't take the truck category.
What do YOU think of the winners? Did your favorite make the cut?
