Tata has revealed the Punch, its first compact SUV for India, which will compete with a rising number of low-cost vehicles like the Hyundai Casper, Suzuki Ignis, and Renault Kwid. The 2022 Tata Punch's design utilizes the "Impact 2.0" design language, first unveiled in August of last year.

Dual headlamps, a sporty body, a high amount of plastic cladding on the bumpers and side sills, as well as a bi-tone finish are all features found on the Punch. The wheels have a 15-inch or alternatively 16-inch diameter. The Punch has a length of 3,827 mm (150.6 inches) and a wheelbase of 2,445 mm (96.3 inches).

No matter how basic the car is, Tata didn't forget about its off-road abilities. Using the Punch, you can wade in water up to 370 mm (14.6 inches) deep and have a 20.3°approach angle, 37.6° departure angle, and 22.2° ramp over angle. When combined with the 190 mm (7.5 inches) of ground clearance, it will be much simpler to deal with India's roads.

Tata Punch is built on the same ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) platform as the Altroz B-Segment hatchback. According to the manufacturer, the 2022 Tata Punch received a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP tests, which is impressive for a vehicle of this size built in India.

You'll discover a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter Revotron three-cylinder motor with 84 hp (63 kW/86 PS) and 113 Nm (83.3 lb-ft) under the hood. Additionally, a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front axle. This cabin may be on a tight budget but it still has a modern and inviting dashboard because of the brightly colored decorations.

It can accommodate up to five passengers and has a 366-liter boot (12.9 cubic feet). The Pure is rather simple in terms of features, with dual airbags and front power windows being the most notable examples. A 4-inch infotainment system, four speakers, a USB charging outlet, and steering-wheel-mounted functions are included in the Adventure model.

2022 Tata Punch
The mid-range Accomplished boasts the Harman 7-inch infotainment system, 6 audio speakers, LED taillights, cruise control, and push-button start-stop; and then there is the top Creative, which comes with a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster, automatic climate control, auto headlights and wipers, a rear armrest, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and much more.

The 2022 Tata Punch is now on sale in India, with prices ranging from Rs. 5.49 Lakhs ($7,287) for the Pure to Rs. 9.39 Lakhs ($12,466) for the Creative.
