The U.S. automaker Rivian is now building the R1T, a fully electric truck. "RJ" Scaringe, founder and CEO of the company announced this in a tweet. One 2022 Rivian R1T model came off its conveyor belt on September 14. It was the first electric pickup truck from Rivian, beating out Tesla, Ford, and GM.
It's unclear how many R1TS cars have already been built, but based on official photographs, we can count six vehicles. The first to be delivered to customers is a unique Launch Edition variant, with a specially constructed top trim to indicate the beginning of the assembly.
In this case, 2022 Rivian R1T truck is powered by four electric motors with a combined output of 765 horsepower and 1,120 lb-ft of torque, which means it can accelerate from 0-97 km/h in exactly three seconds. The Launch Edition, on the other hand, does not have the longest range of any of the editions available. Depending on the driver's driving style, the 135-kWh battery provides a range of up to 480 km.
The largest battery has a capacity of 180 kWh and can provide a range of up to 645 km, although this will not be accessible until 2022 when the final version of the EV appears. As early as November 2020, Rivian's Launch Edition order book opened, with a price of $75,000.
