2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS Luxury EV Has A Package That Screams High-Class!

After revealing the 56-inch triple-display Hyperscreen dashboard, we got a full image of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS Luxury EV series. The EQS promotes the latest Mercedes EV platform of 201.3-inches (5265 mm 207.3 inches (5265mm). With a visually compact exterior, what we get is also a  sportier aspect. But visually, it looks surprisingly perfect, while the sloping lift-back rear gives it a sportier look than any S-class ever had.

Benz company is working on a 715 horsepower version for release later for the models scheduled to be launched this fall, offering optional RWD EQS 450 and AWD EQS 580 4Matic. The EQS 450 is powered by a single PSM motor producing 329 horsepower and 568 Newton-meter of torque, offering a 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint in 6.2 seconds. Meanwhile, 4Matic has a bi-motor 580 and delivers 516 horsepower and over 854 Newton-meter torque with 4.3 seconds sprint.

Both cars are limited to 130mph in the interests of driving range, which is an impressive 479 miles WLTP, partly thanks to the cab-forward body’s incredible 0.20 Cd factor. The second factor here is the battery pack is full of surprises and the 479-mile range is the most attractive feature that promotes the company's new electric vehicles as top choices.

The EQS features a 200 kW capability, adding at least 186 miles of range in 15 minutes. An intelligent navigation system could calculate "if you’re better off stopping twice at quick chargers rather than taking a more direct route to your destination and being forced to sit around for hours waiting at a slow one." It features a Plug & Charge facility that hands you over digital paperwork after plugging the cable into the EQS.

The tech specifications list continues with an optional head-up display with augmented reality instructions, four-wheel steering with the 10-degrees of swivel available on the optional version only. A Drive Pilot autonomous tech will allow you to rest at speeds of up to 37mph in highway traffic. Sensors automatically open the doors when you approach them. Here's another clever trick - the doors close by themselves when you push your foot on the brake pedal.

The EQS should have a fair price starting around $110,000 in the US and £80,000 in the UK. What do you think? Is it too much or an affordable one?
