2022 Hyundai i20 N Goes On Sale In Australia, Starting At AU$32,490
by AutoExpert | 17 November, 2021
Following the example of the i30 N, 2022 Hyundai i20 N has just arrived in Australia. The i20 N will only be available in one model in the country. Polar White, Sleek Silver, Performance Blue, Dragon Red, and Phantom Black are among the colors available, with prices starting at AU$32,490 ($23,902) before on-road fees. There's also a Phantom Black roof option.
Hyundai i20 N is driven by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 horsepower (150 kW) and 203 lb-ft (275 Nm) of torque, much like in other markets.
This motor is only coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox with a mechanical limited-slip differential driving the front wheels. Whereas other Hyundai vehicles use the same fundamental 1.6-liter turbo-four, the i20 N features a custom turbocharger, intercooler, and water pump, and also a 350-bar high-pressure fuel injection rail, according to Hyundai. A Continuously Variable Valve Duration system is also included.
The new i20 N doesn't have a dual-clutch gearbox like the i30 N, although it has a rev-matching capability in its six-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai i20 N, on the other hand, comes with custom passive dampers that were adjusted in Namyang and fine-tuned in the Nurburgring.
Also, there is a new N Power Sense Axle, as well as larger front brakes with 320 mm rotors. 215/40R18 Pirelli P-Zero tires with a customized compound keep the sporty car on the road.
As usual, several safety features are integrated. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, and High Beam Assist are just a few of the features available. Hyundai i20 N also comes with a new N Road Sense technology, which analyzes road signs indicating upcoming curves and advises drivers to change to N mode.
