With prices starting at AU$47,200 ($33,700), the 11th-generation Honda Civic Hatch is now available in Australia. A 10th-generation Civic hatchback can be had for as little as AU$31,000 ($22,100) in Australia, but with this new 2022 Honda Civic model, Honda Australia opted to debut it in a single, well-equipped form known as the VTi-LX.
It will go on sale in the country on December 6, and Honda hopes to promote it as a more luxury product by pricing it significantly higher than the current generation.
A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 175 hp (131 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque from 1,700 to 4,500 rpm powers the Honda Civic Hatch VTi-LX. The front wheels are driven by this motor, which is mated to a continuously variable gearbox.
The range will expand next year with the introduction of Honda's e:HEV hybrid powerplant. The new Civic Type R, which is on the way, will fill out the lineup. 2022 Honda Civic VTi-LX comes with three driving modes: ECON, Normal, and Sport. Except when stationary or traveling at low speeds, the Sport mode launches a specific CVT shift map and changes the drive ratios to keep revs over 2,000 rpm.
2022 Honda Civic VTi-LX comes with a variety of useful features as standard. Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Traffic Jam Assist, Driver Attention Monitor, a 9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay, Qi wireless phone charger, over-the-air updates, an acoustic windshield, heated and auto-retractable wing mirrors, Plasmacluster ion-based air purification system, four-way electronically controlled front passenger seat, and atmospheric door trim and front footwell illumination are among the functionalities available.
