In an online event that took place just a short time after it was first previewed, Genesis formally debuted the all-new GV60. It will be available in rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, and performance versions, and will be built on the same platform as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5. The entry-level 2022 Genesis GV60 has a single electric motor at the back wheels delivering 225-hp (168 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.
Nevertheless, the standard all-wheel-drive variant includes a rear-mounted 214-hp (160 kW) motor and a front-mounted 99-hp (74 kW) motor, for a total of 313-hp (234 kW) and 446 lb-ft of torque (605 Nm).
Its range is 280 miles (451 km) for the rear-wheel-drive variant and 248 miles (400 km) for the all-wheel-drive type.
The performance model has 214-hp (160 kW) front and rear motors, combining 429-hp (320 kW) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm). With the normal Boost Mode, this model can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4 seconds. While Genesis is known for its luxury automobiles, the GV60 also sports a Drift Mode.
The GV60 also has Genesis' revolutionary electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD) system. Depending on the driving mode, this system plays different driving noises. The ‘E-Motor' sound reimagines the vehicle's motor sounds. Road Active Noise Control is also standard. The 2022 Genesis GV60 has an electronic Limited Slip Differential and Preview Electronic Control Suspension that detects speed bumps and adjusts the suspension's damping force accordingly.
The GV60's 400/800V multi-fast charging technology offers 350 kW ultra-speed charging, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The Vehicle to Load function allows the car to act as a mobile power source. The 2022 Genesis GV60 cabin has many distinctive features. A new infotainment system smoothly combines content across the infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, and Head-Up Display. It also has the first Bang & Olufsen sound system with 17 speakers.
It also has some distinctive traits. Face Connect, for example, allows the car to detect the driver's face and lock or open the doors. The Crystal Sphere gear changer adds to the car's uniqueness. The new 2022 Genesis GV60 comes in 11 exterior colors, including four new Genesis colors: Sao Paulo Lime, Hanauma Mint, Atacama Copper, and Atacama Copper Matte. It is also available in Uyuni White and Matterhorn White, as well as Melbourne Gray and Royal Blue.
Numerous safety features are standard. The following features are available: Forward Collision-Avoidance (FCA), Lane Keeping (LKA), Blind Spot Collision Avoidance (BCA), Safe Exit (SEA), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), rear side monitor, High Beam Assist (HBA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC), Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), etc.
Genesis hasn't said when the GV60 would be available in certain markets or how much it will cost.
