1991 Mercedes G-Class Restomod Is Both Classic And Modern

When it comes to restomods, Expedition Motor Company is a popular name. Using a Mercedes-Benz G-Class convertible from 1991 as inspiration, the business has just released a whole new product.
Known as the 2022 250GD Wolf, this design combines vintage elements with cutting-edge features for a more convenient ride. It is currently available for order for a starting price of $160,000. It took Expedition Motor Company more than 1,400 hours to finish this restoration.
In comparison to earlier G-Class restomods, this new version features various enhancements, including an automatic transmission. The 250GD Wolf is available with either a basic five-speed manual gearbox or an alternative S-Class-derived five-speed 722.6 automatic gearbox.
Mercedes's durable OM602 straight-five-cylinder diesel motor is a wonderful complement to the noiseless five-speed automatic transmission. Gulf Blue exterior paint, along with black wheels, wheel arches, and bumpers, gives the classic G-Class a contemporary appearance.
The interior has been outfitted with modern conveniences, such as an air conditioner, as well as seats made of durable, all-weather Praline vinyl in contrasting colors. A pair of cup holders are installed in front of the gear lever, in addition to a tiny infotainment screen on the center console that enables wireless Apple CarPlay and plug-in functions.
Moreover, all G-Class restomods come with heated seats in the front and back. In addition to new fuel and brake lines, new body mounts have been fitted. The axles, brake calipers, and suspension have all been entirely overhauled, with the suspension now sporting new springs, shocks, and polyurethane bushings for a more pleasant ride.
