The exhibit will be presented to 150,000 fans gathered at the beautiful lake Woerthersee from Reifnitz, Austria. It will feature a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 503 horsepower. The unit is designed to be used together with the MQB platform.
Below are listed some of the impressive figures of this concept: the strength increased by 129% in relation to a standard GTI, the engine torque was nearly doubled, and the performance results are more than promising. The design will surely be a very aggressive one. Volkswagen has presented only a few sketches of the new model.
According to some rumors that have not been confirmed by the Volkswagen Groupâs representatives, the twin-turbo V6 unit, hidden under the hood of the Design Vision GTI Concept, could be included into the Porsche Macan Turbo's equipment. The engineâs power is controlled by a DSG transmission whose specifications are still unrevealed. Yet it is known that this one overshadows all the other DSG transmissions from the Germansâ current range.
The Design Vision GTI Concept impresses also by its ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds. What also makes it stand apart from the standard GTI version? This concept features a four-wheel drive system (the common GTI has a front-wheel drive system), a special sports chassis and several changes made at the wheel alignment level.
