In the modern world where anyone can put out in the digital world his opinion and big life goals, VinFast made a bold statement to bring on the market an EV SUV able to overcome the Tesla cars. Still, some opinions can be legally reported as false claims. VinFast reported to the Vietnamese police one of its customers' attempts to deliver false claims about their product’s quality on his YouTube channel for his 455,000 followers.
The Youtuber Tran Van Hoang is accused by the automaker of severely affecting the carmaker’s reputation. As the legal owner of a VinFast Lux A2.0 he claimed false information and instantly removed the clips reported by VinFast after receiving the official notice from the company. Still, VinFast was still able to make an official complaint with all of the gathered evidence handing everything over to the police and Van Hoang has already been summoned by the authorities.
No details were reported on the YouTuber's complaints about the vehicle. Yet Van Hoang is talking now about complaints were regarding the vehicle. He did say, however, that he's a proud VinFast owner and reluctantly highlighted what he thought of the vehicle's shortcomings. So, whenever you give a review of a new product on the market, be careful not to make the carmaker anger.
VinFast lets out the perfect example for any YouTuber or social media influencer elsewhere. "If a similar incident were to occur when operating in the United States, we will also submit a request to the authorities in accordance with local law, and to protect our legal rights."
So free speech has its limits according to the producer’s imagination and moral boundaries. In America they even know how to use such critisism to gain more popularity with no offences taken. Aren’t you curious of what might Van Hoang said to have broken the VineFast’s judgment and take legal actions against it. After all, criticism is part of the business!
