Hyundai has just revealed the Santa Cruz that will compete in the Rebelle Rally with team Brute Squad this year. The pickup truck has been customized with special accessories and artwork for the all-female gathering.

In this eight-day event, two-woman teams will race across the deserts of Nevada and California, using only a map and compass to cover the course distance of 1,553 miles. No electronic devices, including cell phones and GPS units, are permitted. Eric Bruxton, one of Hyundai's engineers, adapted the Santa Cruz to the rally.

This pickup truck has a total ground clearance of 8.6 inches. Now that there is more room, Hyundai can install 29.5-inch Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain Trail tires on 17-inch Gear Offroad wheels. In addition, the Santa Cruz now has a skid plate beneath its body.

In addition to these improvements, sponsor Rally Innovations has also supplied additional off-road equipment. Included in this are a front light bar with a recovery hook, a tire carrier bracket mounted on the top of the bed, and storage for recovery tracks and shovels.

Brad Arnold and Matt Marble of Hyundai Design North America designed the paint scheme for this truck. The livery has a bandana design to represent the California surfing identity. Also, the Brute Squad logo (which Ciminillo created) and the names of the team's sponsors are displayed proudly on the hood. The competition will run from October 6th to the 14th.
