But the good news it was that it simply drove itself away from the gas station where it burst into flames!
The owner of this 1978 Ferrari 308 stopped at a gas station in California for a refuel. He finished refueling and was putting the nozzle back when he saw a spark immediately followed by flame bursting from the engine. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the fuel pumps. The owner tried to put off the fire using a fire extinguisher but failed and ran away.
And here is where the unusual things started to happen. The car drove itself away from the gas station and pumps and ended up in the street. Apparently it was still in gear and somehow it simply started moving away. The car was completely burnt and unsalvageable.
This 1978 Ferraro 308 has a 2.9-liter V8 that makes 297 hp and 217 lb-ft of torque. It reaches the 60mph in6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 159 mph.
