Dilemmas and uncertainty to one of the BMW racing teams who came to the Russian Federation to participate in the championship.
They were left without food! The Customs employees stopped the food that was intended for pilots, engineers, mechanics, and guests of the German team.
Some food was destroyed at the spot at the border crossing point of Pskov, and some were placed in the storage at the border. Among the products collected from the Bavarian's lists were herbs, eggplant, eggs, and dairy products. The Russian authorities claim that the administration team was unable to submit certificates of origin of the food they were carrying, that while some media sources in the Russian Federation, argue that the food would have got under sanctions imposed by Russia on products import.
If the goods stored at the border will not be returned in time to the athletes, BMW will have to buy food produced in Russia to support their team.
We recall that BMW came to Russia to participate in another phase of the DTM race which will take place on August 29 and 30 on the route Moscow Raceway. Previously, Dieter Grass, the AUDI team leader told the Russian media that his team crossed the border without any problems with the products they had with them. The Open Championship DTM racing includes nine stages a year held in countries like Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and the Russian Federation, and for each race the team members participating bring their own food.
The same happens when Formula 1 races - it is much more convenient for the participants and offers them a steady diet depending on the country, and after the tournament, the unused product is discarded.
