Lit Motors has been at developing it since 2012 on what they say is a new concept - the C1. What they're working on is basically a self-balancing motorcycle that really works.
It's still in early prototyping but as you will see in the video, the possibility is definitely there. The exposed metal frame in the video will be covered by an aerodynamic body. Seems the body design has been done with input from major automakers.
The C1 stays upright using two large gyroscopes underneath, each spinning in opposite directions. They're so powerful the bike can withstand a sideways impact from an SUV and not tip over, therefor potentially making it safer than a narrow vehicle of similar design but with three wheels.
Power is all-electric and what will differ from these basics is the addition of the second seat in tandem position, similar to a Renault Twizy.
The company hasn't announced the official delivery start date. Preorders are now being taken and a price has been made public$24,000, not including any potential discounts. It is possible production may begin by the end of this year.
