The freshly launched BMW 2 Series Coupe is likely to become more attractive and more efficient in the face of its rivals Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz A-klass.
Thus, the Germans had decided that would not hurt a new engine. One in three cylinders!
So, the series 2 Coupe will debut in Geneva Motor Show with a 1.5 liter engine volume, in 3-cylinder delivering 136 hp. The index of the new motorization is 218i and the performances are not insignificant. The 136 horsepower gives to the coupe a sprint from zero to the first hundred in 8.8 seconds, for a manual gearbox and 8.9 seconds if the engine is aggregated to the automatic transmission.
The Bavarians announced a low consumption for the new engine that recorded only 5.1 to 5.6 l per 100 kilometers mileage! The maximum speed of the coupe is close to its index series and is 218 kmph.
With the debut of the new engine, the Germans will provide as option and the xDrive all-wheel drive system for the 220D model. We remind that it is available only on the most potent version, 235i.
