The All-New 170 HP Caterham Seven 340 Is Finally Here
by AutoExpert | 8 November, 2022
The Caterham Seven 340 is the newest roadster offering from this manufacturer. It is more powerful and has more torque than the Seven 275 since it has a bigger engine. The Seven 340 is powered by a 2.0-liter Duratec four-cylinder engine that generates 170 hp at 7,250 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm.
This engine was developed by Ford. The previous Seven 275 was powered by a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder Ford Sigma engine, which produced 133 horsepower.
From what we can tell, there will be two different versions of the Seven 340. The S-Pack model is designed for luxury travel. It rides on 14-inch wheels and has a suspension designed for the road. The R-Pack version adds a limited-slip differential, sport suspension, 15-inch Orcus wheels, a carbon-fiber instrument panel, and a composite windscreen.
Soon, you'll be able to purchase a Seven 340 in Europe or Japan. The 340S will be priced at €45,700 ($45,803), while the 340R will cost €47,200 ($47,302). Both the regular and extended chassis sizes will be offered. A reduced floor option is also available for those who need it, allowing for more comfortable travel even for those of greater stature. In addition, there are several different seating arrangements from which to choose.
