The 2024 Mitsubishi Colt Is Really Just A Renault Clio With A New Name
by AutoExpert | 9 June, 2023
Last September, the Renault Captur made a grand entrance as the new ASX. And now, the Mitsubishi Colt, is joining the party! This sleek ride takes inspiration from the newly revamped Clio, but with a few exciting tweaks to the grille, bumpers, and lights.
Interestingly, the interior of the car is almost indistinguishable. Moreover, the 2024 Mitsubishi Colt has the same engine as the Clio. The standard model's 1.0-liter, three-cylinder gasoline engine generates 66 horsepower and 70 pound-feet of torque, and the output increases to 90 horsepower and 118 lb-ft with the turbocharged 1.0-liter engine.
The 1.6-liter hybrid is the most powerful option, producing a total of 141 horsepower. The electric motor produces 151 lb-ft of torque compared to the ICE's 109 lb-ft. The base model can only reach 100 mph, but the hybrid and turbocharged versions can reach 112 mph.
The manual transmission on the standard model has five gears, while the turbo variant has six. There is an automatic gearbox, a battery pack with 1.2 kWh of capacity, and regenerative braking on the hybrid. The Mitsubishi Colt will hit the market later this year, but production won't begin until September.
