The recently launched BMW X2 is already gearing up for participation in the prestigious Rebelle Rally, having undergone a series of modifications for this purpose. Taking the performance-driven M35i model as its starting point and utilizing the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine generating 312 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, the car has been further enhanced.
Changes include fitting Rotiform ZMO-M wheels with Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain tires for improved traction and adding a spare tire carrier in the trunk. Custom skid plates and underbody protection, a Thule Caprock roof rack, and additional Morimoto LED lights have also been integrated.
And let's not forget the unique livery and tow straps from BMW M Performance Parts. Off-road recovery gear is sourced from Smittybilt, and an external odometer by TerraTrip has been installed. The BMW X2 M35i is set to participate in the X-Cross Class of the Rebelle Rally, driven by experienced pilot Rebecca Donaghe and navigator Sedona Blinson.
The Rebelle Rally, recognized as the longest off-road rally competition in the United States, spans eight challenging days, covering a grueling journey of over 1,300 miles through the desert landscapes of California and Nevada. Kicking off on October 12 at the Mammoth Mountain Resort in California, the rally is slated to conclude on October 21 near the Mexican border at the Imperial Dunes.
