Land Rover has unveiled a rare and special version of the Range Rover, created just for the Australian market: the Range Rover SV Orpheus Edition. This exclusive model draws inspiration from Orpheus Island in Queensland, Australia, making it both unique and luxurious, with only six units available. Owners of this special edition will receive an unusual bonus— a replica of an underwater sculpture by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor.
The original sculpture, standing 2.2 meters tall, depicts an indigenous woman named Jayme Marshall and is submerged off the coast of North Queensland. It’s a piece meant to raise awareness about protecting the Great Barrier Reef, adding an eco-friendly touch to the exclusivity of the Range Rover.
The Range Rover SV Orpheus Edition stands out with its stunning Blue Gloss exterior and a silver roof. The SUV sits on 23-inch forged alloy wheels with Dark Grey and Black Satin finishes, and the Range Rover lettering is finished in Black Metal with Silver Chrome highlights. Inside, the cabin is just as luxurious, with quilted Perlino leather seats and matching seatbelts.
The "Natural Cream Ash Burr" steering wheel and the white ceramic controls enhance the overall sophistication. The interior upholstery also matches the exterior color, keeping the design consistent and sleek. To make it even more personal, owners can customize the cushions, treadplates, and seat embroidery. Under the hood, the Orpheus Edition boasts a mild-hybrid twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that delivers 570 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
This power lets it go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, which is quite impressive. The Range Rover SV Orpheus Edition starts at AU$ 520,561 (about US$ 339,000) before on-road costs, making it the most expensive model in the Range Rover lineup in Australia. For comparison, the standard Range Rover starts at AU$ 285,211 (US$ 185,700. If you’re interested, you might want to check if any of the six units are still available.
