Qoros, the asian brand that aims to change the European mindset on the reliability and fragility of Chinese auto products, unveiled today the first images of the 3 Hatch model which, as the name suggests, will be a derivative of the current 3 Sedan body.

The five-door compact is inspired by its brother in three volumes, being developed on the same modular platform. Qoros 3 Hatch comes with a length of less than 177 mm, but retains the same wheelbase, width and height. The general design is modified at the rear, where we have one row of different stanchions, a redesigned tailgate and taillights.

At the front, Qoros offers a slightly revised grille and spoiler, and new fog lights. The interior keeps the Sedan design, but may have new combinations of materials and colors for upholstery. Qoros 3 Hatch will be equipped as standard with 8-inch touch screen, that serves Qoros MMH multimedia system functions. Volkswagen, considered by the Chinese one of the rivals, offers a 8 inch touch screen for the current Golf, only, in the list of options.

Asian technology allows 3G services; use car monitoring, access to social networks and navigation. The propulsion is not very noticeable and is secured by the same 1.6-liter gasoline engine, met as well at 3 Sedan. The unit comes with a six reports manual transmission or one dual-clutch automatic one. The production of the new Qoros 3 Hatch, which premiere is scheduled at Geneva Motor Show this year, will be provided by the same plant in Changshu, China, the assembly line, which is already in production of the Qoros 3 Sedan model.
