Porsche Promotes E-Fuel Technology As Green Product
by AutoExpert | 25 February, 2021
After hybrid and electric vehicles are a common thing amongst car manufacturers, it’s time for a new idea to present to the world. Porsche is very optimistic and wants to promote synthetic fuel technology (e-fuel). The very first argument is that it’s as green as electric propulsion. So, meet the e-fuel.
The e-fuel testing will start next year and it’s considered by the Porsche team developers as a “wheel to well”. After theoretical studies, it’s believed that this technology has eco emissions than the current pump fuel, with fewer particularities and less NOx produced.
Porsche’s synthetic fuel is a result of hydrogen and carbon filtered from air combination. The combination follows a brewing process and becomes the e-fuel ultimately used for combusting internally the car’s engine. The e-fuel is available for at least 70% of the Porsche cars, which means that adopting synthetic fuel won’t be a problem for most older model owners.
It’s known that producing electric vehicles are emission-heavy processes and it’s proved that EVs are greener than gas-powered ones after 30,000 miles. There are also questions about how green aka eco-friendly is the battery-producing process due to its sudden massive demand. The e-fuel is a better option for the environment even if it would take years to produce it in big amounts.
