Nissan introduced a 1.5-liter and 400 hp turbocharged engine!

The Japanese from Nissan revealed the full technical specifications of the gasoline engine which will be available on Nissan ZEOD RC experimental model, which has earned the right to participate at the 24 Hours, Le Mans Race from June 13 to 14, 2014.
Called the Nissan DIG-T R, it is a turbo three-cylinder, has a capacity of 1.5-liter and will be able to generate near 400 horsepower. The gasoline unit distinguishes by very low dimensions: it has a height of 50 cm, a 40 cm length and weighs only 40 kilograms.
In addition to the gasoline engine, Nissan ZEOD RC will use an electric motor enough for the experimental model to go a whole tour on the Le Mans circuit in full electric mode. Basically, the first round of each stint will be covered only by energy supplied by Li-Ion batteries. Nissan, carried out last week, the first tests with the ZEOD RC and until the endurance race in June, has scheduled another 20-day evaluation.
We must specify that Nissan ZEOD RC, whose name originally comes from Zero Emission on Demand Race Car, will occupy the 56 famous garage of the paddock circuit at Le Mans, which is dedicated only to experimental use cars. Meanwhile, Nissan is already preparing to participate in the LMP1 class of the 24 Hours, Le Mans Race starting in 2015 season.
