New 2022 Toyota GR 86 Is The Pace Car For NASA Championship Races
by AutoExpert | 15 September, 2021
National Auto Sport Association Championship Races in Daytona in 2022 will feature the Toyota GR 86 as the official pace car. The new 2022 Toyota GR 86, which isn't currently available in showrooms, will be on display from Thursday, September 16th, through Sunday, September 19th.
This fresh Toyota GR 86 has more power and is, therefore, more pleasant. When it goes on sale in November, the Subaru-co-developed coupe will have a base price of under $30,000.
Unquestionably a car for enthusiasts, 2022 Toyota GR 86 should perform well on the track for those who wish to do a few track days or even more. The NASA Championships are a great opportunity for Toyota to market their young star because it is leading a field of opponents at "the top level of professional motorsports."
The new 2022 Toyota GR 86 hasn't been shown yet, but these renders give a glimpse of what it will look like as it dominates over 25 classes and roughly 400 rivals over 4 days.
Toyota and the NASA Championship have teamed together in the past, and this isn't the first time. A free one-year NASA membership was granted to all GR Supra owners in 2019 in addition to an on-track lesson for free that same year. From 2021, all GR sports cars will be included in the offer.
2022 Toyota GR 86 will serve as the pace vehicle for NASA's showpiece championship event. "There is no better car for this, and I'm sure a lot of our competitors will be looking at it for their next street or track car," said NASA vice president Jeremey Croiset.
