Make Room For Skoda’s All-New 2021 Fabia Debut

According to Head of Skoda Design Oliver Stefani, the fourth-generation Fabia, is the next step in their brand-typical, emotive design language. “We have deliberately not changed the essence of the Fabia: as is typical of a Skoda, it is a functional and practical everyday companion,” says Stefani. Finally, Skoda showed off its brand-new 2021 Fabia.

Skoda took a wise risk to refine, rather than revolutionize the look of the Fabia since the new design isn’t a massive departure from the third-generation car. The new model will be sold in nine exterior colors. The 2021 Fabia is designed to create less wind noise due to the aero-acoustic simulation methods that the team used to reduce the air turbulence and airflow on the body along with the vibrations on the side windows that can cause whistling noises interior.

The engine options are plenty and bring more to the new Skoda Fabia. Each one of the three lower-trim 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engines will make between 64 and 79 horsepower and will send power to the front wheels via its five-speed manual transmission. The higher trim models, will go on the market as turbocharged engine versions and deliver 94 and 109 horsepower.

These engines have optioned five-speed manual or six-speed. There will be the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine optioned Fabias that will produce 147 horsepower coupled to a seven-speed DSG. Still, those who await a diesel version will be disappointed. Imagine a 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in just 7.9 seconds and the smallest engine version will get you there in 15.1 seconds.

Other options for the interior are the two different red or white for the decorative lighting along with five USB-C ready for anyone in the car to charge their device. The new Fabia infotainment system features Travel Assist Package, along with predictive cruise control, lane assist, traffic jam assist, and emergency assist, the new Fabia will also be able to park itself.

You will also find bigger infotainment screens, the standard 6.8-inch touchscreen, and an optional 9.2-inch screen with screen buttons on either side of the screen, and actual physical buttons for the HVAC controls. The first-ever 0.25-inch digital gauge cluster also will be available in three options -Modern, Reduced, and Extended designs.

Usual for a Skoda, there are even more clever features including an elastic band pencil holder, a removable cup holder between seats, an umbrella in the driver’s door,14-inches and optional 18-inches wheels, USB-C sockets on the rear-view mirror, card and coin holders and more. Pretty originally, right?
