Maextro S800 Is A New Force In Luxury EVs, Powered By Huawei

Definitely getting a Rolls-Royce vibe from this, don’t you think? The new Maextro S800 isn’t just here to play—it’s gunning for the heavyweights. With its first model, the S800, Maextro aims to take on icons like Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Maybach, offering high-end opulence at a fraction of the usual cost.
Backed by Huawei and JAC Motors, this brand is the latest and most ambitious chapter in Huawei’s HIMA project, following earlier efforts like the Stelato and Luxeed. With the S800, Maextro is shooting for the stars—and it’s not shy about it.
The Maextro S800 is all about making a statement. Its sleek, stretched-out proportions follow the classic luxury sedan formula: a long hood, a gracefully sloping roofline, and a huge wheelbase. Yes, it’s huge—just a few inches shy of the Rolls-Royce Ghost and not far off from the Maybach S-Class. Huawei’s Richard Yu made sure to point out that this thing is bigger than just about anything else on Chinese roads.
Design-wise, the Maextro S800 sure knows how to borrow from the best. You’ll spot Rolls-Royce-style disc wheels, Bentley-esque chrome accents, and a two-tone paint job that could pass for a Maybach’s. Even the rear, with its sloping design, nods to the Porsche Panamera. But it’s not all copy-paste—there are a few original touches, like starry-patterned door handles and intricate LED lights that add a bit of personality.
Inside, Maextro teases luxury in all the right ways. The "starry sky" roof—clearly a wink to Rolls-Royce—promises a celestial vibe, and the materials scream premium. The back seats hint at a VIP four-seater setup, perfect for anyone. And since this is a Huawei project, expect cutting-edge tech, from AI-driven features to advanced autonomous driving.
Details on the electric powertrain are still under wraps, but the Maextro S800 rides on Huawei’s Tuling Intelligent Chassis, which hints at some serious performance chops. What we do know is the price: starting between ¥1 million and ¥1.5 million ($137,800-$206,700). Will Maextro shake up the ultra-luxury scene? Time will tell. But one thing’s for sure: they’re coming in confident.
