Several Japanese company sources confirmed a public debut of the production version of extravagant concept Lexus LF-NX at the Geneva Motor Show next year. In order to be able of standing up to dominated German rivals, Lexus will bet on a risky asset: design.
The appearance of the LF-NX concept will be maintained for the production version. Fact confirmed even by European director Lexus Paul van der Burgh, motivating the decision by customers' desire to be more expressive and to stand out. The LF-NX version will try to achieve all these features.
There is no information about the engine, but the two occurrences of concept (at Frankfurt Motor Salons and Tokyo this autumn) provoked many interpretations in this area. The first interpretation assumes that the model will use a variant of the hybrid assembly exposed to Frankfurt and comprises a conventional petrol engine of 2.5 liter together with an electrical one. The second involves the use of four-cylinder, 2.0-liter, turbocharged, presented within the Japanese salon.
