Legendary Mercedes-AMG SL Is More Dramatic With The 800-HP Manhart Revision
by AutoExpert | 14 February, 2022
A few can deny that the Mercedes-AMG SL is already a monster. Manhart, on the other hand, is a tough nut to crack, and wouldn't stop there. As a result, we have the new Manhart SL 800 R. A twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 motor is still housed between the SL's fenders.
Upgraded turbochargers, an intercooler, and a carbon intake are installed under Manhart's expertise. To put it another way, the Manhart-specific rear wheels receive 800 hp and over 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque as a result of this setup. The tuner doesn't provide performance figures, but given that a factory Mercedes-AMG SL63 accelerates to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds on its way to a max speed of 196 mph, the SL 800 R should be significantly faster.
Suspension adjustments reduce the car's height, although specifics on those adjustments are also unknown. The 800 R, according to Manhart, has extra options for modifying the performance envelope, as well as various cosmetic and interior tweaks. To put it another way, it's a custom-built vehicle with a sleek SL design.
There is no pricing information yet for the revised Mercedes-AMG SL, which is a new project that was announced on February 8th. Nevertheless, the German firm is already accepting orders from anyone looking for something a little more daring than what AMG has on offer.
