KTM X-Bow GTX Racer Will Get A Road-Going Sibling

KTM X-Bow GTX was unveiled in 2020 as a high-end track vehicle based on the GT2 racing, and it will apparently have a road-going version. The car will be produced in limited numbers and will share the five-cylinder engine from the Audi RS3. The vehicle will be built on the same carbon fiber monocoque frame that has been utilized in all prior X-Bow models and weights under 80 kg (176 lbs).

The new X-Bow is likely to weigh somewhat more than the GT2 racer's 1,048 kg (2,310 lbs) because of the additional equipment necessary for street-legal operation, but it will still be fairly light.

The 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder motor is derived from an Audi RS3, but it has been tuned to provide even more performance. The mill develops 523 hp (390 kW / 530 PS) in the KTM X-Bow GTX and up to 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) in the GT2. The limited-slip differential will once again be used to deliver power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed sequential transmission. A road-legal version of this engine is still in development, but we may expect to see a significant increase in acceleration.

If you're looking for extra comforts, including bucket seats and improved sound insulation, the new X-Bow GTX/GT2 may be outfitted with Sachs Racing Dampers and a gentler suspension for the road-going version. There will be no more than 100 automobiles produced per year by the firm, which will maintain their uniqueness intact. As of this writing, we don't have price information, but in Europe, the track-only KTM X-Bow GTX begins at €230,000 ($259,795) before tax.
