Kia EV6 Gets A Boost In Range And Style

An updated battery and a fresh appearance give the Kia EV6 more range and a more modern look. A new design language reminiscent of the bigger Kia EV9, as well as the soon-to-be-released EV3 and EV5, informs the adaptable LED headlights.
The carmaker has enlarged the front grilles for an even more menacing appearance. Then, they divided the glossy black panel on the back into three separate sections with sharper corners to give it a more athletic look.
The EV6 now boasts an 84 kWh battery of a new design, and tests conducted in Korea suggest this upgrade could potentially boost the vehicle's range to 307 miles before requiring a recharge. After receiving 295 miles during the Korean test cycle, the previous vehicle had an increase of 12 miles.
Whether or not the 577-bhp top-of-the-line EV6 GT will also get some upgrades is something Kia has not yet confirmed. Given the recent release of Hyundai's Ioniq 5 N, which shares the same platform and generates 641 bhp, it's plausible that the GT is undergoing an upgrade.
Slight cosmetic changes, including a redesigned steering wheel and an updated infotainment touchscreen, are believed to have accompanied the alleged improvement in material quality inside the updated Kia EV6. This new feature allows for wireless upgrades to the car's control software. Delivery of the new Kia EV6 in Korea will begin next month.
