Is Le Mans Ready For The SCG 007 LMH Hypercar?

Also known as the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus 007 aka SCG 007 is the 007 hypercar for the 2021 World Endurance Championship. The boutique manufacturer reached the phase of tests and sent the race team on the Italian Vallelunga circuit for further tests.
The first look at the SCG 007 impress with the aggressive dynamic package with a massive rear wing and a shark fin. There’s also the bulging roof scoop, and eye-catching front and rear wheel arches. Romain Dumas’ first task was to help to fine-tune the car within the first shakedown test.
Especially for the Le Mans Hypercar class competition, the SCG 007 was powered with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine produced by the French engine specialist Pipo Moteurs. The engine has head features derived from previous engines used by World Rally Championship cars. Another smart engine characteristic is the ‘artificial intelligence throttle’ that keeps the turbocharges spooled regardless of throttle input.
The very heart of the vehicle is enough to deliver the 670 hp maximal limit rule input by the Le Mans Hypercar class competition for its participants. No hybrid powertrain means a ‘pure blood’ 3.5-liter twin-turbo V8 and a raw race.
The SCG race team has experienced drivers such as Romain Dumas, Frank Mailleux, Olivier Pla, Pipo Derani, Ryan Briscoe, and Gustavo Menezes for both cars that will enter the competition. The SCG most feared rivals which confirmed their intention for the title are Toyota and Alpine.
