Is An Electric Version Of The Honda S2000 In The Works?
by AutoExpert | 28 July, 2023
Honda is preparing to unveil an electric sports vehicle later this year, maybe as a modernized S2000. According to insiders, it will be something spectacular that will astound the entire globe.
Except for the fact that it will be electric, nothing is known about the sports vehicle. The sports car will be known as a Type R, as was revealed by Car Magazine.
Kotaro Yamamoto, Honda's technical consultant, revealed that "Type R" stands for racing and pleasure. He feels that an electric automobile may provide this enjoyment and that the Type R designation does not always necessitate a combustion engine. Even in an electric future, it's all about ultimate driving enjoyment.
Honda and the Type R are inextricably linked. The Type R showcases Honda's performance goals, separating them from other automakers. While the Civic Type R will ultimately go electric, the next sports vehicle might be the second electric model to use the Type R label.
Because of Honda's planned e:N architecture, the car is likely to have RWD and maybe AWD for the high-performance Type R variant. Honda plans to stay true to its lightweight traditions in an industry where many electric sports cars are bulky. Will Honda be able to duplicate the S2000's lightweight structure? Only time can tell.
