In China, New Audi A8 L Horch Founders Edition Was Unveiled
by AutoExpert | 1 November, 2021
According to reports, Audi is working on a longer, more opulent version of the A8 to compete with Mercedes' Maybach sub-brand. Audi A8 L Horch edition won't be available in the United States, which is a misfortune for luxury-loving Americans.
The Horch, on the other hand, is based on the planned 2022MY A8 facelift, which will be available in North America. Before the Guangzhou Auto Show, Audi unveiled the A8 L Horch Founder's Edition in China, which takes a long-wheelbase A8 and extends it by 130 mm (5 inches). More chrome has been added to the grille, making it look even more opulent.
Further modifications can be seen on the vehicle's side. The 20-inch wheels are reminiscent of Bentley and Maybach shapes. Two special exterior paints will be available for the Founder's edition: Oakrun and Nimbusgrau. They're made to highlight the aesthetic tastes of Audi A8 L Horch. Two-tone color schemes are also accessible if you want to put a little extra detailing.
The inside is likewise scattered with design embellishments. The seats and door cards are covered in diamond-quilted leather. Foot massagers for rear-seat passengers, and also back massagers in both the front and rear seats, are included in this model, as they are in the A8. The front seats include two touch screens to navigate menus, while the back seats have their central touch system.
Unexpectedly, Audi chose a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with a 48-volt system that produces 335 hp (340 PS/250 kW) instead of a V8.
Although the new Audi A8 L Horch is planned to be released in markets other than China, Audi USA stated that the Horch would not be available in the United States.
