An experiment of American hackers revealed a reality that should put on guard not only drivers but also car manufacturers worldwide.
They managed online, to take control of a car from a distance of about 15 kilometers having fun with absolutely all the car's electronic systems.
The action took place in a test designed to demonstrate the vulnerability of current automotive technology. The car, a Jeep Cherokee SUV model of the last generation, could be controlled from a distance of about 15 kilometers, with a program they wrote.
It allowed hackers to take control of the machine to the smallest details, such as multimedia system, windshield wipers, lights failure, cooling and not all can find new, even more importantly, control bodies! Hackers have explained that they used a computer and a mobile phone to access terrain vehicle systems through the Internet connection. Thus, more than 471,000 daily vehicles on the road are vulnerable, the hackers estimate.
They spent a year creating this program to reveal security breaches of machines that have Internet access.
Below you can see is a video that proves that all is not so "nice" as it seems, and someone started very well you can "steal" the steering wheel in his hands, accelerate or brake for you! Do you want more autonomous and electric cars?
