GM has a new ECOTEC engine family!

The General Motors presented its new Ecotec engine family, which will include 11 units. It will be composed from engines of three and four-cylinder, which will have volumes between 1.0 and 1.5 liters and will supply between 75 and 165 hp.
The engines have a modular architecture and promise to provide the best values in the segments in which they compete in the refinement, efficiency and sustainability. In relation with the current units, the GM said that the new engines are more adaptable and less complex on the production side. While the turbocharged three-cylinder engine will debut on the Opel Adam and will also arrive on the market in Europe, the drive turbo with four cylinders and 1.4-liter displacement will debut on the new generation of Chevrolet Cruze.
The engine in question of 150 HP is found under the hood of the Opel Adam S. The engines above will be built in five factories of General Motors, located in China, Hungary, Mexico, South Korea and the United States. The engines will arrive in Europe and will be built in Hungary and South Korea. By 2017, General Motors will provide new Ecotec engines under the hoods of the family of 27 different models.
